With gas prices around and well above $4, it's nice to know that you're living in area that "saves" you gas money! At an estimated fuel cost of $747 per month (YIKES!!), Arlington was just rated one of the Top 10 Most Fuel Efficient Cities in the U.S.
Forbes says that Arlington "residents have shorter commutes...to Northern Virginia's plentiful high-tech and defense contracting jobs. You can hop the metro to Reagan National Airport or...Dulles Airport. Redevelopment in semi-urban sections such as Ballston and Clarendon has attracted upscale day spas and Whole Foods. Households in these areas drive 13,000 fewer miles per year than those in Gainesville, an outlying Virginia suburb." This seems to fit in well with the fact that Northern VA has been rated amongst the top places to start a business, in fact, Forbes rated the Metro DC-Northern VA area as #25 in the country, for Best Places for Business and Careers.
The other cities on the list includes: Brooklyn Heights (NYC), Koreatown (LA), Logan Square (Chicago), The Mission (San Francisco), Fishtown (Philadelphia), Jamaica Plan (Boston), Woodward Corridor (Detroit), Greenville (Dallas), and Montrose (Houston).
Happy to be in Arlington, Laura Rubinchuk
